This is the blogging equivalent of "the dog ate my homework".
For starters, having dragged Master P to a pumpkin patch last year, eagerly anticipating lots of Smug Family fall photos (which I didn't even know was a thing before I had kids - hello, Facebook era!), I've learned my lesson. I'd sooner drown myself in a vat of candy corn than drive an hour to chase him around a bunch of gourds again.
Rather than authentic pumpkin patch photos with a human child, then, you're getting me + my backyard + my other child, who is a ham and will actually sit still for photos.
Also, today you get headless photos since my facial region wasn't cooperating. I'd even bothered to do hair and makeup that day too. I know, I know - I'll *never* sign with a decent modeling agency at this rate.
In any event, if I were making the trip this year, here the simple getup I'd be wearing
I'm trying to get brave with mixing my patterns, pairing those leopard slippers with the following striped tee (total Mom-o-Flage) and other fall-y little details:
My photo assistant isn't so sure about this:
I'm trying to win him over with the power of accessories:
outfit details: tee (old Target) / pants (old Gap, update here) / shoes (Target) / watch (Michael Kors) / leather bracelet (Embellish - yes, it's a nail salon) / bamboo bracelets (old KJL, similar here)
How did I do for my (completely imaginary) Smug Family photos?

I like all of it on you, especially the leopard slippers! (And your assistant is stylish as well, you know I love that pooch.)
Sending you a smile,

Too bad that top is old Target as I totally want it!
We are about to (foolishly?) commence a family photo session. I have no idea what I'm dressing everyone in. Prayers and "bless your hearts" are appreciated.
Two is definitely a tough age for outings. We are going with a group from church this year, so hopefully familiar faces should help any meltdowns. Maybe.
And on to the outfit. I wore our favorite old Target tee shopping on Sunday. When I got home Nate said, you have bumblebees on your shoulders. Ha. I need to get more adventurous with my mixing as well. Well done!
You look great. I love your pattern mixing. It isn't easy to pull off well and you nailed it! I almost got those leopard shoes from target, but they didn't my my flinstone feet quite right. I did end up getting the leopard pointed toe flats with the neon pink trim. Not as versatile, but still fun. I love cheap target finds!
I LOVE that top, very nautical! I call everything with stripes nautical now that we are in fall and I anchors and boats and sea creatures are fading
