Operation MILF - Mom Uniform, Fall 2011

*Note: the products below are in no way sponsored nor solicited placements blah blah blah etc. etc.*

When I'm not otherwise busy offending Austin hipsters with my sense of style, I enjoy trying to do so here with you. Yes, yes - aren't you all lucky?

The mercury has *finally* dipped below 90 degrees, which here in Texas signals the beginning of fall - all two weeks of it. Brief though this so-called "season" may be, I do like to look the part while it lasts. Keeping that in mind, I've started assembling my fall wardrobe along the following guidelines:
  • Reuse still relevant accessories (see tortoiseshell watch, studs & bags below);
  • Incorporate fall '11 colors & trends, like striped sweaters or leopard print, as affordably as I can (neveryoumind one pair of splurge Tory Burch flats below) (but they nearly don't count because - look, ma! - no logo) (parentheses) and keeping my figure needs in mind (i.e., any skinny-ish pants must be balanced out by arse-covering volume on top)
  • Buy with the Toddler Mama Clothing Rules in mind:
      1. I must be able to bend over in all pants without flashing passers by; it's always a good rule, and so much the better when I need to fish Master P out of the toilet, etc.;
      2. Tops must be of a material / pattern such that they can withstand sippycup attack;
      3. Shoes and pants must accommodate my new flats-wearing reality; and
      4. Yes, I'm enough of a former lawyer to have subpoints to my wardrobe outline.
I remain allergic to those "outfit of the day" blogger photos until such time that one of you professional photographer types agrees to come over and shoot me as well as Photoshop out the wrinkles. Until then, you get these Polyvore sets, and you will like them. Or not. Whatever. Deal?

Please note that I can't find all of my wardrobe finds online (*shakes angry fist at ever-naughty Target site*), so some of these are the closest approximations I could dig up:
What say you - are you with me here, or are you with the toddler-heckling grocery store clerk hipsters?

I have that Longchamp embroidered handbag and I LOVELOVELOVE it. It's my new diaper bag and it looks good with everything. Julia also loves it because it holds so very many things to dump out onto the floor. I do need some of those long sweaters though. I'm starting to finally come around to the "leggings might actually count as pants" camp but I definitely need something to cover my butt.

I miss heels sometimes, but those TB sparklies would make up for it!

I live in boots and cardigans during the fall. Both of these cardis make my heart smile.

I'm guilty of posting a few OOTDs, mostly because a ton of my "staples" are last year's Old Navy/Target items. Maybe one day I'll be up to speed enough to polyvore it up. I must confess these days I'm rockin the jeans/tee/hoodie look. Shameful.

Am loving Loving LURRRRVVVVINNGGG the faux-tortoise shell accessories my dear. And the non-logoed TB flats. I had no idea she even made then without her monogram adorning your toes. Operation MILF a success!
