Target Shoes: The Good and the Fug

I could start this post off with a cringe-worthy "Let's get this week started on the right foot!" pun, but I am not that lame.  Most of the time.  Really.

I'll just go ahead and begin, then, by admitting that on my daily latest Target trip, what began as an innocent paper towel excursion ended up in the shoe section.  I have no excuse save the siren call that is the patent stiletto:

I bring you the Mossimo Valonia Pump, available in blue and black.  Longtime readers know my Target Sniff Test;  due to the heinous quality of Target's online photos and occasional in-person quality issues, I try to only recommend that which I've personally inspected on my daily latest adventures.  These pass my TST;  they look far more expensive than they are, and the blue ones in particular are a rich, azure color in person.  If These Difficult Times interfere with my plans to invest in the red shoes of hotness, I will be purchasing these excellent alternatives.

On the other end of the shoe spectrum, I hate to disappoint the more preptastic amongst you, but the recent Miss Trish of Capri collection is . . . um, it does not pass the TST.  Admittedly, this line has always been a bit Palm Beach prepalicious for this Banana Republican, California sort of girl.  However, in the interest of blog reporting - and spending more time in the shoe department - I decided to investigate:

Bejeweled turtles? Cheap-looking pleather?  Insane wedges?  Most un-Pretty.

Wishing a well-shod, wonderful week to you all . . .

I love the patent pumps at the top as well, I have especially been eying the navy ones! Why are navy shoes so hard to find?!

Those patent pumps are hot. Don't think I can walk in the heels but for the Target price I can try, right?

Cute pumps! I need those asap. I agree about the wedges. Shoes at Target are either a hit or miss. Hubby knows that I will never come home with one thing if I go to Target. lol.

Love the patent pumps. HATE HATE HATE those awfully tacky overly wedged cheaply jeweled pleather uglies. Gross. They also make your toes stick out in such an unflattering way.

Those wedges are heinous!!! Love the pumps, though. Thanks for doing the dirty work for us and reporting back! Saves me a trip!

I can say with experience that those pumps are fab! I bought a pair last week with a gift card from my birthday. I've been strutting in them ever since! They are amazingly comfortable too.

Ive been looking for a sensible pair of red pumps. Must go try them on. Here goes yet another Target run. Do you think they recognize me on their little camera system? Heehee... I am sure they do, "Here comes that crazy lady with 3 kids. Again."

No, no, you cannot show me lovely shoes at Target. No, no! I'm not spending money. I'm not, I'm not, I'm not (I wonder how many times I'll have to repeat it for it to be real?)

Love Target! I just made one of my daily (scratch) monthly visits and left with 2 bathing suits, 3 pairs of flip flops and a new purse!

Unbelieveable...I need blue shoes AND I'm going to Target today - what are the chances?

Thanks for the heads-up. I've loved 100% of your Target suggestions thus far.

Also, is it me - or do you have visions of breaking your ankle when wearing wedges? I've never even fallen, but I always think about that for some reason.

The wedges remind me of sophomore year of hs, when they were all the rage. So was body glitter. And spegetti straps with bra straps.

I'm so dated.

LOVE the blue pumps. I thought I found a pair at Geoxx but they ended up being purple. Am running out to purchase asap. A little disappointed about Miss Trish. Yuck.

Those turtle wedges are too fugly for words. Have any of you seen the Christian Siriani for Payless shoes debuting this fall? Scariest things I have ever seen....ever. Worst than pageant moms even.

Curses! I was just at Target today (I protest the Targets near me and only go to the ones in the Valley) so I now need to trek out once more to buy those pumps. I'm a bit disappointed in Miss Trish!

Those pumps demand some love! I think I need to start practicing walking around in heels if for no other reason than to properly admire those!

I had to hold my breathe because I JUST got home from Target and I was worried you would post my shoes as fugs.

(phew!)

I finally broke down and invested in a black patent pair of ballet flats. Debating between $45 DSWs or $11.50 Tarjays. Buying them felt a bit like marrying the friend you'd said you'd marry if you were still single at 40, so wish me luck.

those wedges would be cute... for a 7 year old.

I am always so releived to flit my eyes down to a photo of shoes like that and see the comment isn't 'aren't these shoes fab?' - phew!!

That pump does look very expensive, I'm going to have to find a way to work that into my super tight budget :)
