There is a time when every honest woman must admit when she's wrong. Happily, I am not that sort of woman. Nonetheless, I will admit that my former handbag honey, Coach, might - might - have heard our numerous complaints. Take a look at the following work-appropriate, neutral bags & just try to suppress the urge to golf clap . . . no, really, I'm being serious . . .
"Parker Leather Large Convertible Hippie"

"Parker Leather Riley Tote"

"Penelope Shopper"

These are tasteful. These are not $800 a piece. The logo-ing is minimal. They don't look like something the local teenage strumpet might be sporting while cruising the mall.
Don't get me wrong; Coach is still peddling the bespangled, be-logoed, multi-colored nightmares too, but this is promising. I'm not leaving Camp Marc Jacobs yet, but still - not bad. Should we get the slow, tentative round of applause started up?

I too am firmly ensconced in Camp Marc. And I agree with you. That first bag might make me start to pack my literal and figurative bag....
i like them all, great choices!
I love the Parker line and recommended it to someone in my Q&A section. I think it's so versatile, well priced, and almost the perfect everyday bag.
It's isn't heavily lined enough for me to withstand the occasional rotting banana. I totally found one in my LV diaper bag this morning. Ewww.... I know. What has become of me?
Oh wow, these are gorge. Quite the change from the craziness you posted about a while ago. Loving it. Thanks for keeping me informed on fashion... :)
I love the shape of the last bag and can see it fitting comfortably on my shoulder. I'm still skeptical, though. :)
I have been noticing this change in Coach... Does anybody know if they got a new designer or creative director or something? The old Coach and the new Coach were either drawn up by 1 bipolar person or 2 very different ppl...
These are nice, but you're right Coach is still, shall we say, heading ina the wrong direction with the logo craziness?
I really like the 3rd bag. Too bad I'm stuck in diaper bag hell for another two years. I really hate all the logoed Coach bags. My SIL has a Coach logoed diaper bag - it's hideous.
As long as its not dripping with C logos I am ok with Coach. I still have the small black one from there. xxoo
The first one is redeeming the brand....maybe a few more like this and I'll start looking their way again. But if I see too many C's I might projectile vomit in the store....maybe I should stick to online shopping? :)
I'm impressed. Maybe they are going back to their roots (before teenage girls began buying up their purses)?
Glad someone on their on their design team said, "I don't think we can fit another gold C on this bag...Wait - Get rid of them all!"
They're lovely.
::golf clap:: I love(d) Coach and believe that they still have some class... it's just harder to find these days. These bags are lovely.
I love that first bag! It has a very Prada feel to it. Let's hope Coach has realized the error of its logoed ways and continues in this new direction.
"golf claps" ... love it!
Yes, we are applauding, albeit hesitantly. Love this post and the comments Miss Pretty!
But we ask...can they be trusted?
tp
The convertible hippy is not too bad. I would carry that.
I'll give those a slow clap...
My sister is obsessed with Coach.
I really like the Riley bag and I should have it since my dog is named Riley, right? Right?
I am so glad those are not overly logo-ed. I hate the ones everyone carries, they are the teenage 'it' bag. Blech so cookie cutter. Those are pretty though!
I think it's a good solid first step. They have a way to go before I trust them again, but these are quite nice!
Clapping over here. I've been a fan for years. I know about the sad tacky pimpage to the tween set but those were the Bush years and even then there were the odd solids snuck in for the tasteful die hards without gobs of money who could only buy one good bag a year. I'm so happy to see with the new administration the tide is turning.
When we first moved to town the radio was stolen out of my car. I haven't had it replaced and have gone over a year with no car radio. The Hubster offered to buy me a new one, but I tried to guide him to Coach instead. Thanks for the motivation!
Order me the Penelope immediately! I think it can almost fit my dive fins...definitely my extra set of heels I tote around in the hope that I'll get up to something that requires them after work.
